Money - Brian

The potential lockouts in the NBA and NFL that are approaching in the next few years are simply ridiculous. The collective bargaining agreements are almost up for both leagues, which means the players and the GM's will have to negotiate new agreements when it comes to contracts.

What might happen is that the players will be unsatisfied with the salaries that GM's want to pay them, and then the players will go on strike, cancelling the season in which the new CBA would take place.

How selfish.

Sorry for not being sympathetic in the fact that the players might go on strike and cancel a season because instead of a max contract being somewhere near $24 million in the NBA, it might come down to $20 million. It's a rough life being a rich and famous athlete, and can they stand to lose $4 million without going broke? Yea, right.

How selfish of them to ruin a season and screw over their fans because they won't be making "enough" money. This is outrageous. The players union is also upset about the potential cap on rookie contracts. How is this a bad thing? Most rookies get grossly overpaid when a large majority of them will flop and get paid millions to sit on the bench. How is that fair for the veterans who have proven themselves to get $7 million a year and then a hot shot rookie to come in and get $10 million. Doesn't make much sense to me.

So suck it up players, and let your contract go down a few million bucks so your loyal and dedicated fans don't have to miss a season.
