In my parents house growing up I never had a dishwasher. Always did the dishes by hand. In my apartment though we do have a dishwasher and I think it is the most terrible invention the world has ever seen.
The dishwasher is the only thing in the house that uses all of the utilities in one foul swoop. Electricity to run it, Water to fill it and gas to heat the water that's in it. Soon I'm sure they will have flat screen TVs on the front of them so they can use cable and internet also.
They not only use every utility they also can tare households apart. "you shouldn't have ran the D Dub it could have been fuller, are these dirty or clean? these go on the bottom rack, these go upside down, you didn't wash this before you put it in the dishwasher..."
yeah that's right you have to WASH dishes before you put them in the dishWASHER... what?
I don't understand them never had never will I think its a waste of cabinet space. That's why I stay away from the whole machine and simply have one bowl, one spoon, one fork. I can choose to wash them with soap I can choose to not wash them at all or just a quick rinse the sky is the limit when you have your own bowl. I don't have my own cup (aside from my amazing Ohio State Mug birthday present) because I don't need cups everything I drink is either from a can or jug. Its very liberating like going off the grid only in the kitchen...

Most of my childhood we also had to wash dishes by hand. I think it's definitely more effective but sometimes having a dishwasher is nice. Especially if I have a ton of people I'm cooking for, I certainly wouldn't want to do all their dishes. Also, because Alan and I decided nitpicking at your spelling is funny, your use of the word "tare" instead of tear made the teacher in me die a little lol
ReplyDeleteyou are telling me tare is spelled the same as the liquid that comes out of my eye?
ReplyDeletegotta go with the finetic spelling always
Lol Yes the spelling of the verb to tear is the exact same spelling the noun tear, "the liquid that comes out of your eye". A "tare" is actually a kind of plant. And I assume you meant the phonetic spelling. Not going to lie, your spelling mistakes kind of made my afternoon haha I jest and all. You're either doing it all on purpose, which would be funny, or you're not...which would still be funny lol I'd like to think it's all on purpose because you do seem to be an intelligent individual.
ReplyDeletei love it...work the body, work the body!
