The Grid - Adam

Something that has always made me upset is the fact that the states of America are not perfectly cut squares. Ok before satellites and stuff they didn't really know what the world looked like but now that we have that kind of technology I think it would be so much easier if we took the US and turned it into a grid, evenly divided up the land into 48 blocks.

Also the road system is completely messed up and should be 100% redone. every mile on the mile put a road. So in each square state there are square counties and in those counties there are roads every mile like longitude and latitude lines. The roads that run north and south will be even numbered the roads that run east and west will be odd numbered.

Fulton County basically has this system and it is incredible. so I could say I'm at 13 and 24 in Franklin County and everyone in the country would know how to get there it is so simple.

if you wanted to name roads after people and stuff you could do that but it would also have its number to go with it. then for cities we would simply cut up the land between the mile roads and turn that land into city blocks and those blocks would be called 1st street and 2nd street so its still easy to get around.

also with this system you would know exactly how far you have to travel no matter where you are going.

this needs to happen lets get the ball rolling
