Classy - Brian

I never thought that I would defend LeBron James, but I suppose I'm about to.

After the release of Dan Gilbert's letter to Cavs fans where he bashes LeBron's decision, it has come to make me realize the the Cavs organization is classless. Gilbert sits behind his desk and calls LeBron a coward, stating that he betrayed the city and his fans.

He also goes on to state that James quit during the playoffs and gave up on his team and his city. Really? Is that why LeBron averaged 29 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7.6 assists during the playoffs? Because he gave up?

Why isn't Gilbert blaming himself for surrounding James with a poor supporting cast? Mo Williams and all his greatness averaged 14 point on 39% shooting for the playoffs. Why isn't Gilbert chastising him? Gilbert had a chance to get Amar'e Stoudemire at the deadline, but chose Antwan Jamison instead. His reasoning at the time? He didn't want to give up JJ Hickson in the deal. Well if Hickson was so important, why did he average 8 minutes in the playoffs, with only a combined 9 minutes in their last 3 playoff games?

LeBron chose the path to winning, and everyone knew that wasn't going to happen in Cleveland. Sports is about winning and I don't blame him for leaving to greener pastures. Do Cleveland fans have a right to be upset? Absolutely they do. But steer most of your anger towards the ownership, not LeBron. He did everything he could for the Cavs and got left out to dry by Dan Gilbert.

Makes a little more sense that he disliked the Cavs organization after that stunt by Gilbert. I stand by LeBron's decision, wish him the best of luck, and hope the Cavs continue to fail as long as they still have the only coward they ever had - Dan Gilbert.
