Dress To Impress - Adam

As a senior in college and just months away from the job market last night I went job interview clothes shopping. Scott and I went together so I could get a woman's opinion. I had an Express coupon card that if I spend $150 it would be $50 off tsk like I would spend that much just for one outfit right? the shirt cost $49.50 Pants $54.50 and Tie $39.50 coming to a grand total of $153.50. one shirt one pair of pants and a tie got me to $150 I couldn't believe it so I got my discount and it ended up being $99.81 I still needed dress shoes and a belt so Scott and I went to Macys I got some shoes for $49.99 and a belt for $33.75 so another $89.39. Grand total of one dressed up outfit 189.20. Besides that I hate dressing up you have to tuck in your shirt, the collar strangles you and if that doesn't strangle you enough the tie will, that is if you can figure out how to tie the damn thing. But once you get all that figurd out, women go crazy bout a sharp dressed man. Step One in Life After College Complete

  1. Adam, I'm surprised by you. I would think a more frugal man such as yourself would do a better job shopping around. Dress clothes needn't cost you that much.

For example, The Jacket cost me $1.50 - Valley Thrift

Most of my dress shirts cost me $20.00 maximum - Kohls, Sears, and Valley Thrift

Ties can either be borrowed from a friend, or found for less than $15.00 at KMart, Target, or even Valley Thrift

As you may have guessed by now, a large portion of my wardrobe was discovered in Valley Thrift, the most extensive and magical of all thrift stores. Plus, every Monday is "25% Off Mondays" so...yeah. Oh and my black jacket that I wear, used to be part of a Choir tux in highschool.

So true though, the ladies do love a sharp dressed man.

  3. I had the express coupon what was I to do? you get what you pay for so if I can buy stuff that is nice at a cheaper price thats what its all about plus...did you see that photograph?

  4. Even with the coupon, it was still more expensive than shopping at Khols (where the clothes are just as nice). So I still disagree with your purchase.
