Blow Bowl - Brian

So this year they are trying something new out, playing the Pro Bowl the week before the Superbowl...huh?

This could be one of the worst ideas ever. By playing it before the big game, they are eliminating a lot of potential players from the game, and adding some suspect players to the Pro Bowl roster.

This idea has already eliminated two of the top three quarterbacks from the Pro Bowl (Manning and Brees, duh). Not to mention all of the other players who can't participate because they are on a good team. I mean, the two best teams have to have a lot of Pro Bowl players, right? So by putting the Pro Bowl game before the Superbowl, you have trimmed the legitimate Pro Bowl roster by about 10 players.

So this year, it's not really the best players playing in the Pro Bowl, but the players whose teams couldn't make the Superbowl. Basically we are punishing players for being a part of the best teams in the game. Doesn't make much sense to me. But what do I know, I'm just a fan.

  1. what are your thoughts on Adam's idea

    1)week before the super bowl:
the two teams that just lost their confernce title games play each other for a NIT style championship game
    2)Super bowl plays as normal
3)Pro bowl like normal a week after the super bowl

that way we have something to watch on that week before the super bowl and the best pros get to play in the pro bowl...however would the NIT bowl take away from the super bowl some?

  2. I think it might take away from the Superbowl because the two teams that lost could have easily made it to the SB, and therefore it would be like having two Superbowls. But I would like to see something happen in the week before the SB, I just don't know what

  3. we need to also look at another negative. The players that made the PB from each of the SB teams made an appearance at the PB. WTF!!! You are splitting up the teams the week of the SB when you do that. I feel they should experience the experience with the teammates that helped them get where they are. Yay or nay?
