This doesn't have everything to do with sports, but it does involve some sports figures, so I'm going to consider it close enough.
Can I just start off with saying that our courts and justice system is unfair and impractical.
Why is killing a dog now worse than killing a human? Let me explain...
Michael Vick spent 23 months in jail for everything he did, with most of the penalty coming because of the fact that he killed a lot of the dogs. I totally agree with his punishment, and I think he got what he deserved.
Donte Stallworth killed a 59 year old man with his car when Stallworth was driving drunk. He served 24 days. I will let you re-read that one...
I'm sorry, but I just think it is incredible that the punishment for killing dogs is greater than for killing a human. 24 days??? Is that all this mans life was worth? Stallworth was DRUNK! He drove his car anyways, and it ended a life. And he went to jail for 24 days. Vick kills some dogs and goes for 23 months.
Justice? I think not.
This is what PETA has brought us to. A land where dogs are worth more than humans.

ReplyDeletethis is rusty stechschulte.....i fucking love your point brian....fuck the world...its stupid hahahaha
ReplyDeleteDude PETA are a bunch of complaining whores...I agree with your point on this one, animals can not surpass humans on the social food chain because that would mean our country is controlled by liberal, animal f***ing, douche bags....o wait it is....so disappointing. Great point though, and I agree.
ReplyDeleteJayson Williams is expected in court today for sentencing in the 2002 death of a hired driver. After pleading guilty in January to aggravated assault, the former NBA star is expected to receive 18 months in prison.
ReplyDeleteFirst off it happened 8 years ago and he still hasn't been sentenced
Secondly he is sentenced with aggravated assault so this murder wasn't an accident and he still isn't serving as much time as Vick did
