So I have a few plaid shirts in the closet.
Since guys can only wear three types of shirts I kinda have to have them.
Polo, button up, t-shirt
these are the only types of shirts guys can wear, since I have the DotW shirts I don't need any more t-shirts. and I don't like the patterns of polos unless its one color but I feel at that point I might as well just wear a t-shirt. so this leaves button up shirts for me to wear when I'm feeling dressy.
So the only types of button ups available for guys with out a tie are plaid button ups.
my point being plaid is the pattern on the shirt. Flannel is the fabric a shirt can be made from. I don't own any flannel shirts but I do have plaid shirts there's a difference and its pretty important.
However there comes a time (and commonly I might add) where the two worlds meet and this occasion is what I like to call Plannel its fashionable and functional in cold weather climates.

sooo i just want to point out some other shirt options for you. since i have been in france i have seen STRAIGHT guys wearing; silk purple button-ups, no shirt and short shorts, tight graphic Ts, belly shirts, and white silk shirts with angel wings on...just a taste of european fashion for ya. So technically there are other shirt options out there..not that i am suggesting you wear ANY of them.
