First I'd like to just say that I welcome the Corn Huskers into the Big 10 and I'm glad it wasn't Notre Dame they havn't done anything since I was 1 year old or any Big East team.
Two nights ago I witnessed Kobe Bryant's fifth title. As you all know I am a huge Michael Jordan fan. Everyone knows MJ has 6. I'm not trying to say Kobe is in anyway near passing or even being next to Jordan in the all time greats conversation but he is no doubt among the top ten.
Having said this I'm making an official favorite NBA team change here and now please allow me to give you some history:
First off if you'd like to root for or against Brian and my favorite teams here is a list of them do with it what you will.
As you can see I like winners. The Sixburgh Steelers have the most titles since the super bowl era, The Buckeyes have won the last 5 Big Ten titles and have the only two time Heisman winner in college football history. the Tar heels gave birth to the greatest basketball player there ever will be. And are the second most winningest team in college basketball. So where does that leave me with professional basketball? here we go:
From birth until October 6th 1993 I was a Chicago Bulls fan. Then for some reason I found myself a huge Birmingham Barons and Scottsdale Scorpions fan for the 1994 seasons. I became a Chicago Bulls fan again on March 18th 1995. I remained a Bulls fan until January 13th 1999.
On January 14th 1999 I became a Los Angeles Lakers fan.
For one reason mainly, Kobe Bryant. he is an amazing closer and although he might not be statistically the best closer in the game any more the dude really knows when to step up to the plate. During the summer after I graduated from High School I remember watching the NBA Finals Heat vs Mavericks and I really liked D-Wade but I was a Lakers fan and you can't just change teams. Last season and this season all the hype about LeYawn vs Kobe really got me back into my love for the Lakers and of course Kobe proves his dominance in the game with two more titles. But Thursday night I found myself half heatedly rooting for the Celtics because Kobe winning 5 is too many for my liking. and I thought to myself that isn't right why would I root against my favorite player and team? then I realized its time for me to change teams. Kobe is an amazing athlete and fun to watch but he's almost to six and like I mentioned that doesn't mean he's equal but it just doesn't sit right with me.
so I am declaring my official NBA team change from the Lakers to the Heat.
Time to pass the torch from Kobe to Dwyane. now let me start off by saying I'm only a Miami fan because of Wade and if he decides to up and leave then I guess I will too. It wasn't easy picking a new team. I do love winners and so Miami might not have been the average persons first choice. I did some soul searching and I put some thought into it. This decision has been fighting within me for the past 4 years. I just had to put it off because I could stand there while people tried to say Queen Lames is better than Kobe. so I know what you are thinking "Adam you are from Ohio and so is LeYawn Lames why don't you become a Cavs fan?"
first off LeYawn isn't staying atleast not if he wants to surpass MJ and secondly I've said it before and I'll say it again... I like winners it would pain me to be a LeYawn fan.
so after all that talk and history I am officially saying goodbye to Kobe and welcoming D Wade into my heart. Don't let me down Dwyane.
