Jordan Fades Back - Brian

This season I have been lauding quite a bit of praise on LeBron James. I have argued that Cleveland fans need to get over losing him and move on. I have argued that James was the leader of the Heat. I have argued that James was the MVP of the NBA regular season.

I don't take any of those back. But one thing that I will never argue, and no one should ever even suggest anymore, is that LeBron can be as good as Jordan.

I really only need one number to prove that, and here they are:

LeBron - Game 5 2011 NBA finals: 9 points

Would Jordan ever have submitted a game like that? Absolutely not. LeBron also looked lethargic defensively during that game too. No weak side blocks. No quick rotation on defense. Just a lot of standing around.

Jordan would have been in LeBron's face if they had played together, making sure there was no standing around. And if that wasn't bad enough, LeBron made almost no effort to make sure the Heat didn't lose the next game at home.

Jordan would have done everything possible to make sure his team won in that situation. He would have taken over that game and if his team lost, it wouldn't have been because of Jordan.

LeBron has nothing on Jordan.

And after these finals, I should never hear an argument to the contrary.

  1. So because Lebron isn't Jordan, he can never be better? Lebron is still young and missed the experience the at MJ got in college. Up until this last series, Lebron was doing it all. He has a bad week of basketball and people are calling for his head. Come on!!! Welcome to the world of sports overreactions. Lebron still is the best basketball player in the world and has the physical potential to be the greatest thing the sport has EVER seen. Who is going to care that he lost his first to finals series if he wins the next 8? Not saying that will happen, just saying that just because he isn't now, doesn't mean he won't be in the future.

  2. because Jordan was coached by Dean and Phil doesn't mean anything... that's like saying well you only did better on that exam than me because you studied... Jordan is better BECAUSE he got that experience and BECAUSE he worked harder.

Jordan is 100% in the finals if LeBron wins the next 8 then he's 80% which as you may or may not know...

    80% is less than 100%
    James is less than Jordan

Maybe LeYawn Lames should worry about being the best player right now first THEN we'll talk about him being the best all-time

  3. So, A triple double doesn't count as trying to make his team win? Also, I think they call basketball a TEAM sport. The mavs were the better team obviously. The end. The comparison to Michael Jordan is dumb. I agree with Brian on that. I am hoping you guys are saying Lebron is a bad player. That would be ignorant--->(adam). EVERYONE knows he is a top player, everyone.
