Frost King?

so my apartment is insulated about as well as a convertible and since the roommates like to keep the place around 75 degrees I wanted to try and keep the heat in to save some coin so Anne and I went to Lowes and I bought some SHRINK FILM INSULATION KITS from the frost king I get home and try to do the window on our first floor that you can feel the wind cutting through so I read the instructions and follow them perfectly first thing I did was put up the double sided tape then waited 15 minutes so its sticky and the damn film wouldn't stick to the tape what kind of company sells a product that consists of two things one is shrink wrap the other is double sided tape that doesn't stick to the shrink film? so I had to duct tape the stuff up and I'm not even sure how much its keeping the place insulated the box says up to 90% more R value but if I have no R value to start with what am I at now? looking back I would buy a sheet of 1-1/2 foam board and just shove that in all the windows then duct tape some 6 mil poly instead of this shrink wrap BS Frost King? more like Frost Queen because its worthless
