Guilty by Association - Adam

A lot people hate the Ohio State Buckeyes. It is just a fact of life. They call them overrated, they complain about the weak schedule, or about the "boring" playing style, and numerous other things.

Well I am here to try and be the voice of reason for those haters out their. I would have to say the number one reason people hate the buckeyes is one of the major reasons I love them... the fans.

People just hate buckeye fans and rightfully so, Buckeye fans have the biggest cockiest mouths and never let you forget that they prefer Ohio State to other college football teams. Well as a buckeye fan please allow me to illustrate that not all of us are this over the top.

Every year Ohio State is overrated in the preseason polls (yeah I said it) I'm not sure why or how it happens, but it does happen. Because of this OSU fans everywhere start jawin off and I have to sit there and cringe as they speak of Heismans and coaches trophies. I'm not saying Ohio State is shit I'm simply saying we are overrated, as in we are good (5 big ten titles in a row) but not best in the nation. I'll break it down for you:

In the JT era against top 10 teams and/or as a top 10 team:

2003
Oct 11 @ Wisconsin L 17-10 OSU rank: 4
Nov 22 @#8 Michigan L 35-21 OSU rank: 7
2004
Oct 02 @ Northwestern L 33-27 OT OSU rank: 7
Nov 20 vs #7 Michigan W 37-21 OSU rank: N/A
2005
Sep 10 vs #2 Texas L 25-22 OSU rank: 4
Oct 08 @ #16 Penn State L 17-10 OSU rank: 6
Jan 02 vs #5 Notre Dame W 34-20 OSU rank: 4
2006
Sep 09 @ #2 Texas W 24-7 OSU rank: 1
Nov 18 vs #2 Michigan W 42-39 OSU rank: 1
Jan 08 vs #2 Florida L 41-14 OSU rank: 1
2007
Nov 10 vs Illinois L 28-21 OSU rank: 1
Jan 07 vs #2 LSU L 38-24 OSU rank: 1
2008
Sep 13 @ #1 USC L 35-3 OSU rank: 5
Oct 25 vs #3 Penn State L 13-6 OSU rank: 9
Jan 05 vs #3 Texas L 24-21 OSU rank: 10
2009
Sep 12 vs #3 USC L 18-15 OSU rank: 8
Oct 17 @ Purdue L 26-18 OSU rank: 7
Nov 14 vs #10 Iowa W 27-24 OT OSU rank: 11
Jan 01 vs #7 Oregon W 26-17 OSU rank: 8
2010
Oct 16 @ #18 Wisconsin L 31-18 OSU rank: 1

the Buckeyes are 6-8 when they play either against or as a top 10 team. lost twice against top 25 teams when they are in the top 10 and just straight up lost to 4 unranked teams when in the top 10.

Do I think we are constantly overrated... I would say so. But I will say this: before JT all Buckeye fans wanted to do was beat Michigan. Seeing as how he is 9-1 against them I'd say he's doing his job. He actually might be doing his job too well, because OSU fans have lost interest in the rivalry a bit and because of this they have gotten greedy. All they want are national championships. I ask that Buckeye haters please go easy on the jaded fans. and Ohio State fans lets calm down and enjoy the Wolverine ass kicking. Just be content with that!

Commiss Wish - Adam

This week in my fantasy league I'm going up against the commissioner of the league.

its interesting to note that he is also the only undefeated team in the league.

its also interesting to note that he controls how points are earned in the league.

hmm isn't that just a fascinating stat, we'll see how wins this week me or him I'm 2-2 he is 4-0.

Also for those of you who know, Wednesday is Mario Party night at my house and as the past week's reigning champ I regret to inform all of you that I lost my crown for the week to Matt.

Also NBA 2K11 came out yesterday and it is incredible. love playing as Michael Jordan for the first time EVER in an NBA game. I almost feel unworthy to take control of him so I'm usually just Pippen or Harper.

This is the 200th post for 2010 (counting both Brian and my posts)

So the new college football rankings came out today as usual. Guess what happened to the extremely overrated Broncos? they were jumped by the magnificent rose bowl losing Ducks. (for those of you that don't recall my first post of 2010 the Bucks beat the ducks)

so currently in the top 25 there are 6 big 10 teams (almost 7 if Penn State wasn't terrible) that means there are only 4 teams not ranked, who are they?

Indiana a team that took the number 17 team in the nation to the last second of the game
Illinois a team that took the number 2 team in the nation to a low scoring match
Purdue a team that beat OSU last year but because of injuries to their entire starting offense they suck

and of course the golden gophers (in their defense I haven't seen much of them but I'm sure they are terrible)

what dos all this mean? bottom line: Big Ten > WAC

Boom.
